Every May 15th since 1160 Gubbio has hosted the Corsa dei Ceri. Three teams, each representing a particular saint and carrying an enormous wooden candle, race from the town square to a nearby mountain top. For 60 years The Festival of the Two Worlds, in Spoleto, has become a popular event featuring opera, drama and dance. Fans crowd the streets to take in the vast array of performances that take place through June and early July.
