For kids who’ve never witnessed geothermal activity, the bubbling mud and steaming fumaroles from this semi-active volcano are eye-opening! You can also slather yourselves with the reputedly healing, dark volcanic mud and rinse off in a pool.
From March through August, head to the rugged Grande Anse beach and watch nesting leatherback and hawksbill turtles. Arrive in the early evening and watch as the 500lb. turtles come ashore to dig nests, lay their eggs and then lumber back to the sea.
