Events & Places

Vatican City

Of course the most popular must see sight in Rome. Take a tour, beginning with the museums and then revel in the beauty and majesty of The Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica (we can even arrange private tours for your group). Before you leave this sacred site wander through St. Peter's Square taking in the architecture. Let us curate a personalized private tour.

Ancient Rome

With countless Roman ruins, the three most famous (and visited) cannot be missed. Start at The Colosseum and wind your way through The Forum where you can almost hear the footsteps of Roman Legions marching to war. Follow this up with a trip to The Pantheon and wonder at this architectural miracle of antiquity.

Fountains and Aqueducts

Rome has over 2000 fountains (50 monumental), many of which were fed for nearly two thousand years by the aqueduct system that provided water to the city for drinking and bathing. Do not miss the Fountains of St Peter's Square, Fontana del Tritone. At the world famous Trevi Fountain. Don't forget to toss in a coin over your shoulder!

Architectural Safari

Fans of architecture will find Rome is a myriad of styles. With so much to see, why not try a motorized tour? Private motors and even a "hop-on hop-off" tour are a great alternative. Rome boasts excellent examples of ancient, medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and Fascist architecture. Alternatively let our local host take you on a private guided tour and discover hidden enclaves of the city.

Piazzas and Squares

Piazzas and squares are the heartbeat of life in Rome. The city is home to literally thousands of these "meeting places" where you can enjoy food and drink, shops and even local entertainment. The list is endless but do not miss Piazza Navona, Campo de' Fiori or Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere.

Local Flavors

Although Rome has an incredible amount of restaurants and bars, it might be nice to visit The Mercato di Campagna Amica. This farmers market is only open weekends and features a "0 km" rule, ensuring everything is local and fresh. The market is a delight for the senses and you can easily make your own fresh Roman lunch for under 10 Euros.

For Kids

Parks and Gardens

Escape the bustle of the city and visit one of the numerous parks that dot Rome. Rent a rowboat at The Villa Borghese or enjoy the playground at Villa Sciarra. Sit back, relax and let the children run free.

Gladiator for a Day

Sign up for this two hour class that begins at The Museum of Gruppo Storico Romano and kids learn about being a gladiator from re-enactors. Then don your own tunic and gloves, grab yourshield and weapon and learn the art of the these ancient Roman heroes. You will even receive a diploma at days end.

Spettacolo di marionette

Rome has a long-standing tradition of puppet shows and two of the best are Teatrino di Pulcinella al Giancolo and The San Carlino Theater. These lively and imaginative shows are interactive and feature a variety of performers and musicians.

Going underground

Explore the tunnels of the past and get a taste for underground Rome. Spooky and historical, you will see the tombs of everything from early popes to everyday Romans. The two best are Catacomb of St. Callisto and Catacombs of St. Sebastian. Be the first to spot the early Christian graffiti.
