Set in the midst of a sixty-acre estate surrounded by private vineyards and olive groves sits your Tuscany vacation villa, a recently restored, 17th-century stone farmhouse. Tastefully decorated interiors are highlighted by antique furnishings and a respect for the original architecture, providing a simple but refined atmosphere that is perfect for a large group of friends or families. Just up the road is Cortona, celebrated by Frances Mayes in her book, Under the Tuscan Sun. It’s a delightful town full of art, museums, winding cobblestone streets and Etruscan archeological heritage.
Within an hour’s drive, you can visit Arezzo, Siena or the famous super-Tuscan wine villages around Montepulciano and Montalcino. The border with Umbria is close by too, allowing for the option of day trips to Perugia, Assisi or even Todi. On other days, you might simply walk to the small neighboring village to enjoy a café, have lunch in the local trattoria and truly experience the relaxed way of life that is so quintessentially Tuscan.
Note: Both 12 and 16 person configurations of this property are available.

Many good restaurants, shops and sights are in the nearby town of Cortona just 10 to 15 minutes by car. The main train station is located in Terontola which is 5 minutes by car, where you’ll also find grocery stores, bars and some shops. A visit to Montepulciano, Siena, Pienza and Arezzo are within an hour (the first Saturday and Sunday of the month Arezzo hosts one of the largest antique fairs.) Both Florence and Rome can be reached by train from Terontola in 1h30min and 2h30min respectively.
The neighboring region of Umbria lies south of Cortona and offers wonderful treasures in towns such as Perugia (museums, historic capital and chocolate!), Assisi (home of Saint Francis the Patron Saint of Italy), Deruta (ceramic capital of central Italy), Montefalco (heart of the Sangrantino wine as well as Umbrian textiles) – all within one hour of Villa Etrusca.
