Chateaux de Chenoix
You Dordogne home-away-from-home sits on six acres of wooded grounds fronting the clear waters of the winding Dronne river. With its oldest part dating back to 1090, this vacation château features two solid towers, a barn erected in the 1700s and a more formal main house built in the prosperous 1880s. The whole ensemble has been lovingly restored to provide the latest comforts you need on vacation while honoring its rich Dordogne history.
The thick stone walls keep the house pleasantly cool in the summer, while the central heating keeps it cozy in cooler seasons. Each section of the château (main house, adjoining house and converted barn) can be enjoyed on its own or as part of the whole. Surrounded by lawns and a stream running down to the river, the property boasts century old lime trees, flowering meadows, a small lake, a bamboo grove and an orchard. You can take a refreshing dip in the river, or find a shady spot nearby to watch the water and the occasional canoe passing by – what could be more relaxing?
Our Favorite Things About this Villa

- The authentic setting with modern amenities
- Superb booking flexibility: Reserve all sections of the château or just enjoy it on its own
