Chateau Esperance

Situated in the heart of the Périgord Noir, famous for its many grand châteaus and medieval towns, Château Espérance stands high on a rocky promontory overlooking the beautiful “Rivière Espérance” (the River Dordogne). From its light-filled rooms and broad terrace around the pool, there are superb vistas of the valley and de Fénélon nearby. Dining al fresco beneath the poolside loggia as the sun sets over the many-hued tapestry of farmland and wooded hills below is truly a memorable experience. Just one of the many memories you’ll make on your Dordogne vacation.

In the courtyard of Château Espérance there is a private, detached 17th Century chapel (70m2) which is now used as a non-religious multifunctional space.  It is heated/air-conditioned and has a “HK Lucas Performer” music system (compatible with media devices, for example an iphone etc) which allows guests to enjoy their choice of music in high and professional definition with excellent acoustics.

The chapel is furnished as an elegant dining space with dining table and chairs.

Ideal for a blessing, exquisite dining room, private concert and dancing etc.  Capacity : Approximately x30 seated or x60 standing guests.

Across the lane is a guest house that provides a bedroom and bathroom for two more people, an ideal hideout for any teenagers in the group. And a few minutes away down the hill from your Dordogne villa is a delightful and popular village with a typical café, bakery, shops, essential services and an excellent weekly market.

Our Favorite Things About this Villa

  • The large salt-water pool overlooking the valley
  • The covered dining loggia—perfect for enjoying fresh produce you gathered at the market
