Hillside haven on the Amalfi coast with views to Capri
Poised on a sun-blessed hillside high above the lemon groves and the sparkling water, this superb villa enjoys a breathtaking 180° view of the Mediterranean, with the Island of Capri on the horizon and the magical town of Positano along the bay to the right.
Built as an olive oil mill in the 16th century, many of its original features have been kept, such as the cupola ceilings, the arches and even a built-in good-luck stone! After a meticulous renovation, the villa is now an all-season home that also includes the latest modern comforts such as air conditioning and heating, permanent high-speed Internet access and a stereo system piped into all rooms, even the bathrooms. The décor mixes clean white walls and cool tiled floors with splashes of southern color and antique local wall tiles.
From both floors, step out to a flower-framed terrace with stunning views of the sea, laze a while under the pergola shaded with lemon trees, or take a dip in the sparkling infinity pool, where you'll feel you could almost swim out to sea and reach the far horizon.
The villa makes an ideal base for 6 people who enjoy both the peace and quiet of home and the call of adventure. Exploring the Amalfi peninsula, Capri, Ischia and even Pompeii or Naples is made easy by the many ferries that flit along the coast, or by the train that takes you into the interior.
