I was taught to appreciate the beauties of my hometown, yet at the same time embrace the beauties of other cultures from around the world.
I live in an enchanting corner of Tuscany, in a hilltop farming estate, surrounded by vineyards and olives groves. I was born and raised in Siena, just few steps from the Duomo and the Campo square. I attended Architecture school in Venice which provided me with some fantastic years in such an incredible town, so rich in history, architectonic beauties and art.
Tuscany has so much to offer - enchanting landscapes, exquisite architectures, valuable artworks, genuine delicacies and much more.
My perfect day in Tuscany would be...
The driver will pick you in the morning and will drive you to Monteplulciano through the Mount Cetona panoramic road. It is a little winding (that's Tuscany!), but you will be rewarded by the incredible view. You will meet me in the main square of the town where I will walk you through the streets and alleys of the historical center framed by the "palazzos" designed by some of the greatest Italian architects of the 16th century.
In Montepulciano are also nice little shops, and artisans'workshops, but the town in mainly known for its great wineries!!
I have booked a wine tasting with light lunch in my favorite one around noon. This will give the time to enjoy the town and do some shopping.
After the wine tasting the driver will take you to Pienza, that is only 9 miles from Montepulciano.
Pienza is a small town nestled amongst the rolling hills of Valdorcia and has a commanding views on the landscape. The highlights are the beautiful Cathedral and the Renaissance palaces, but also the small shops that sell the local cheese, the Pecorino, great to savor accompanied by chestnut honey or onion jam.
You will be home just in time for a relaxing swim in your pool.
Dinner will be served at home, under the pergola: you will enjoy the sunset in front of a glass of wine, while the chef will surprise you with a special menu, all based on traditional Tuscan recipes.
